July 2017, 12 The Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah, EPAA, has concluded its 2nd children and young adult's summer programme. Themed "Together for a More Beautiful Summer", the programme ran from the 2nd of July for male students in the 9-15 age group. At the end of the event, Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah honoured the participants in the presence of Dr. Saeed Musabih Al Kaabi, President of Sharjah Education Council and Member of Sharjah Executive Council. The programme ranged from workshops to activities and awareness lectures. The programme’s venues included Desert Park centres, Arabia’s Wildlife Centre, Sharjah Aquarium, Falcon Hospital, Dubai Dolphinarium in Creek Park, the Natural History and Botanical Museum, Ski Dubai in Mall of the Emirates, the Islamic Park and Al Hefaiyah Mountain Conservation Centre. Al Suwaidi commented, "We were delighted to see the children’s participation and interaction in the 2nd edition of this programme. They showed a keen interest to join more activities of this kind. They enjoyed the entertaining and stimulating environment and were curious to learn more about the environment and conservation." She continued, " We are proud of this highly successful summer programme and we thank the authority’s team for their dedication and hard work. We extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to our strategic partners who contributed to making this event a success." She noted that the authority is committed to organising environmental and awareness activities which are aimed at developing the skills and talents of students and encourage them to make best use of their free time. Al Suwaidi added that the programme included a variety of activities that help develop creative thinking, promote teamwork and create a positive educational environment conducive to creativity, in addition to introducing innovative educational workshops.
